We believe that God has
called us to minister to the whole person - body, mind and spirit.
By use of our facilities and our members volunteering of their
time, talent and money, we are sharing the Good News of Christ to
persons in our community, in America, and in 20 other nations.
Local
- A Food Pantry is maintained in our own church and we assist
other food pantries in Metropolitan Detroit.
- South Oakland Community Lunch Program - use our building for
their Saturday lunches.
- Warming Shelter - we provide volunteers for the homeless.
- Friendship House - many of our members volunteer at this
Hamtramck resale shop.
- The American Red Cross is welcomed semi-annually for blood
drives.
- AA and other groups use our building for their meetings.
- We support the Salvation Army, Judson Center, Homeless Task
Force, South Oakland Shelter, Habitat for Humanity and other
organizations in our community.
National and International
Using the coordinated efforts of the American Baptist Churches, USA
our church has a presence throughout our nation and the world.
- Christian Community Centers across the country
- Service Projects in other communities and countries (most
recently, our church provided volunteer workers in the Dominican
Republic)
- CROP Walk - our members are walkers and the church is a "water
stop" along the route.
- Various special mission offerings during the year are collected
for mission work.
