Ministries Near and Far

We believe that God has called us to minister to the whole person - body, mind and spirit.

By use of our facilities and our members volunteering of their time, talent and money, we are sharing the Good News of Christ to persons in our community, in America, and in 20 other nations.

Local

  • A Food Pantry is maintained in our own church and we assist other food pantries in Metropolitan Detroit.
  • South Oakland Community Lunch Program - use our building for their Saturday lunches.
  • Warming Shelter - we provide volunteers for the homeless.
  • Friendship House - many of our members volunteer at this Hamtramck resale shop.
  • The American Red Cross is welcomed semi-annually for blood drives.
  • AA and other groups use our building for their meetings.
  • We support the Salvation Army, Judson Center, Homeless Task Force, South Oakland Shelter, Habitat for Humanity and other organizations in our community.

National and International

Using the coordinated efforts of the American Baptist Churches, USA our church has a presence throughout our nation and the world.

  • Christian Community Centers across the country
  • Service Projects in other communities and countries (most recently, our church provided volunteer workers in the Dominican Republic)
  • CROP Walk - our members are walkers and the church is a "water stop" along the route.
  • Various special mission offerings during the year are collected for mission work.
