Adult Fellowship: Sunday School
Classes serve a variety of ages and interests from the young in faith
to the Biblical scholar. You can select from a variety of classes.
Our small group ministry promotes personal Christian growth as well
as friendship, fellowship and service.
Our American Baptist Women's Ministry, through their White Cross
activities, study groups provide monthly opportunities for fellowship,
worship, service, mission and spiritual growth.
The Homemakers Group meets monthly for a meal, entertainment, and
fellowship. They have provided many contributions to the Church during
their long existence.
Recreation is an important part of our planned activities for
adults. The Church sponsors softball and volleyball teams, an annual
picnic, trips to various venues such as a Tigers baseball game and a
day at the Detroit Zoo.
Youth Fellowship: The Youth Group (BYF: Baptist Youth Fellowship)
is an active program designed to help our Middle School and Senior
High School young people grow spiritually, become involved in the Christian
community, become friends with each other, and have fun together.
Their activities include Wednesday evening programs, recreational
events, social outings, retreats, regional and national conventions
and service projects. Christian camping is a significant part of the BYF experience.
The youth are regularly a part of the Worship Service serving as
ushers, greeters, and lay leaders.

Children Ministries: Children are
important. Not only are they our future, children are our present.
Children belong in our Worship Service. The children's lesson is
provided so that they can learn about God. It is also a time when we
attempt to tap the child within us to understand the virtue of a
child-like truth. The youngest children then leave for Children's
Worship.
You will find our Nursery is clean, well furnished, and staffed by
caring adults who see to your child's well being.
In Sunday school the Bible stories are taught so that children may
begin to understand the truths of Scripture and practice them. We
encourage them to be together as children of God, to learn to talk to
Him in prayer, to hear His Word, and to praise Him.
During the weeks before Christmas and Easter, special children's
programs focus on the spiritual reason for holidays.
One week during the summer, Vacation Bible School provides ours and
the communities' elementary aged children an exciting, hands-on
learning program focusing on a major Biblical theme.
The Olive Branch Day Care Center is a licensed center run by the
Church as an outreach mission. It provides Christian childcare to the
community in a safe, secure surrounding. It is frequently shown as a
model for others to follow.
Camp Lael is a rustic Christian assembly ground operated by the
American Baptist Churches of Michigan. There, concentrated time is
spent learning the Bible, exploring life issues and having a wonderful
time hiking, horseback riding, swimming and boating.
Music: The Chancel Choir practices from 7:30
- 9:00 p.m. each Wednesday and does a variety of music, more
traditional in character. |
